One morning a homemaker opened her refrigerator and was startled to see a squirrel leaning against a head of lettuce. "What are you doing in my refrigerator?" she exclaimed. The squirrel asked, "Isn't this a Westinghouse?" She replied, "Yes!" Said the squirrel, "Well, I'm westing!"
Ba-da Bing!
Writing, designing, commenting and moderating the Sassistas!TM brings Flannista and Matissta much satisassion and joy. But in order to maintain the level of thoughtful and just plain sass we offer, we have decided that on the weekends, we need to head rest.
Every Saturday, we'll leave the sistas with a quote or thought to contemsass for a few days, and then we'll be up and sassing again on Mondays. To begin, contemsass the following thought from St. Bernard of Clairvaux, and then go plant a big ol' wet one on someone who is your Westinghouse:
"We find rest in those we love and we provide a resting place in ourselves for those who love us."
Rest well, sweet sistas!
Good Morning, Sassistas! Eureka! It beHoovers the Sassistas! to take a much-deserved weekend west in their Westinghouse. You should have started that a De'Longhi time ago. I know you must be Waring thin, especially since yesterday. Just visiting with the Sassistas! very often leaves me feeling as if I am in a Whirlpool! Amana, Sassistas!, you are definitely at a Hotpoint in your careers. It must take a lot of energy to dish out such Sharp sass day after day. I Frigidaire anyone else to try to do the same. I hope if you are wide awake now that you can go back to bed and try to T-fal back asleep. If you have difficulty, I will ask the Sanyoman to dust your eyes with Sanyo. Sassistas!, you are a Sunbeam in my life. GEwhiz, I'll miss you while you are westing. I'll look forward to Tappan back in with you on Monday. I KenMore hardly wait till then.

While you were in your Westinghouse, I was at a writing workshop with Terri Tempest Williams. I would give you a link (if I knew how,) but it is worth looking her up on your own. She is a powerful and passionate voice in the world, for the environment (but everything really, well, because without an "environment" would any of us be here?)
After your rest, I thought you might enjoy this bit of inspiration from her book, "The Open Space of Democracy:"
"The open space of democracy...depends on engagement, a first hand accounting of what one sees, what one feels, and what one thinks, followed by the artful practice of expressing the truth of our times through our own talents, gifts and vocations.
Question. Stand. Speak. Act."
Thank you Sassitas! for your efforts to create and maintain this space, where those very important things happen each and every day (except, of course, when you are taking a well- earned --and likely much needed-- rest.) It is no small thing you do. It is everything.

Thanks youngasista -- for your encouraging words here -- and the Sassistas! will do some insasstigating into Terri Tempest Williams. We love the title of her book and appreciate the excerpt for all the sistas to take in.
We missed you while you were away at your writing workshop. We've been westing, as you know, but could not resist putting up a little something for tomorrow after receiving both your lovely postcard and greeting card today. So do check in tomorrow. Your timing was perfect.
Your love is everything.
