Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, sassophere! To ensure the road rises up to meet you and the wind is always at your back, the Sassistas! would like to share a special Shamrock cocktail sassgestion with you: a Pickleback. It's a shot of Irish whiskey followed by a shot of pickle juice. According to Jason Wilson in the Washington Post:
A Pickleback is simply awesome. Brine and whiskey make one of those mysteriously wonderful combinations, and it doesn't hurt that pickle juice is second to none in preventing dehydration (thus helping to stave off the post-St. Paddy's Day hangover).
If pickle juice works as a chaser with Irish whiskey, why not other juices and fluids? For example, a shot of Irish Whiskey with a chaser of beet juice: a Beetback. A shot of Irish Whiskey with a chaser of honey: a Bit O' Blarney.
Help the Sassistas! and Minho (beautifully attired for St. Paddy's below) celebrate by creating your own Shamrock cocktail featuring overlooked juices and fluids. Don't forget to give it a special Irish name!

I'm raisin' a brew to ya, half-a, for pouring us some great Shamrock cocktails. I think "A Proper Kennedy" is my favorite, followed by the Samsula Irish.
Keep pouring.

When I went for tea, did my grocery shopping, and then stopped for hot chocolate, I asked the clerks for their suggestions:
a barista at my favorite coffee shop suggested: creme de menthe and heavy creme for a drink called, "Mother's Milk"
another one suggested a mix of Irish Whiskey and powdered marijuana...the Blarney Stoned.
the meat counter guy suggested marinating thinly sliced corned beef in Irish whiskey, rolling it and using it as a garnish for straight Irish whiskey. He wants to call it...dinner.
the produce manager suggested hollowing out red potatoes and filling them with Irish whiskey. He didn't have a name for the drink, but did say that when you turned the potatoes into soup, you would call it Irish potato soup.
The barista at my favorite place to have hot chocolate suggested. An Irish martini which is Irish whiskey shaken on ice, served neat with three tiny new potatoes shaved down to the size of cocktail onions and skewered.
