Hoping everyone is safe and warm as the new year is born. Love to all.

Happy New Year to all the sistas! We managed to stay awake until about 5 minutes after midnight, just to watch the ball drop and share a glass of champagne with one couple (everyone else was out or asleep already). Up this morning and just finishing up the Hoppin' John for the buffet brunch.
Here's to a new and improved 2012!!

Happy New Year, Sistas and Mistas! The sun is rising on the new year in the west and (I'm whispering this) the wind has stopped blowing. That in itself is an auspicious sign for the year.

Matissta and I just finished our morning coffee while finishing the movie, "The Help" (Netflix). I really liked it and highly recommend it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Westsista and Bnbsista! Yes, here's to a new and improved 2012!

Our comments passed in the sassosphere, PEACEsista. Happy New Year to you and noway!
Matiss is accompanying me on my long walk today. I will love her company, but what else is new?

Happy New Year! Nothing new here; one kid has sore throat and fever, so we divide and conquer. Then we medicate and head to a Magic game because we have free tickets.
Nothing new about our gorgeous weather either. 75 degrees and sunny!
Thanks for the text last night, Sassistas! I wondered how Flann was awake, and now I know her secret - the pre midnight nap.

treesta is here and the Sassistas! and treesta are watching NFL football and sucking down New Year's Bloody Marys.
Also -- and this is SO fabulous -- Justista just called us to wish us a Happy New Year. You know it will be a good year when Justista's got your back.

Did anyone see the FABulous fireworks in my little hometown? Boy, we in Vegas sure know how to overdo stuff!
I'm thinking about becoming a Vegan. I will start when I get to Vermont next week (they have a fabulous vegan menu in the cafeteria). But in the meantime, I am going to be eating Gruff's gumbo and blackeyed peas today.

Oh, and a happy new year to my sistas!
Just talked to my old Daddy. He said, I didn't have much to celebrate except I made it to 2012. We agreed that that was something to celebrate.
Posted by: Justista | January 01, 2012 at 03:16 PM
It is indeed something to celebrate, Justista.
We love you.

Happy New Year, everyone. A lovely day today, with lovely friends. Justista, it was nice to 'meet' you, voice to voice, today.
Thinking of Chryso and her family, sending best wishes.
Love to all.

Happy New Year to all the sistas and mistas out there! We are good, thank you for all the good wishes and "vibes", they must be working. Things are going really well, all things considering. Let's hope the economy improves in 2012, and that we are all have a very happy and prosperous New Year!

Happy New Year, all the dear ones in the Sass and thanks to Flannista and Mattista for keeping us in their noble hands! (Also silly hands..., remember the macaroni). My 6 and a half year old friend Olive told me, exact words, that "you should become more laid back and then you would see things more clearly." Here's to 2011. A grand year and one of great sorrows and joys. And now? What is next?
Posted by: frida | January 02, 2012 at 11:00 AM
of is it layed back?
Posted by: frida | January 02, 2012 at 11:01 AM
Frida, I think she meant don't sweat the small stuff-like the difference between "laid" and "layed" although I bet there are some riffs out there in the stream on this one. I don't know the difference and if they ask me when I get to Bennington, I'll tell them that I'm not thinking about those things this year (Luckily this is an ungraded program).
So I am going to lie back some more.

or is it lay back?
Posted by: Justista | January 02, 2012 at 01:25 PM
It's kick back.

Feed back?
Biofeed back?

Zwieback.
Throwback.

Knick knack, paddy whack.

Give the dog a bone.

This old woman . . .
Posted by: Flannista | January 02, 2012 at 04:06 PM
You mean the one who lived in a shoe?
Posted by: treesta | January 02, 2012 at 04:30 PM
Nah, treesta. Instead of an old man running home, I thought it should be an old broad. Knick knack and all that.
Perhaps I should be more laid back.
