Thank you, barista, for sending this video to the Sassistas!, thinking we might like it.
I love it for many reasons, starting off with Callista's breakfast drink. I kinda wish I had one of those right now because I just saw the MouseLand weather map and it's not lookin' good at all for me getting out of here this morning. Plus, one of my US Scareways friends texted me last night (she'll be working the ticket counter this morning) and gave me the heads up last night to be prepared for a delay or cancellation this morning.
See the look of pain on my face? (Watch the video to see what I mean.)

I love Callista's physical description of her husband. Seriously -- why would more than one woman (or man, for that matter) be attracted to this pugnacious prick?
Posted by: Flannista | January 27, 2012 at 04:16 AM
Flann, I hope you are getting just enough of a break in the weather to get out of Mouseland this morning. I bet both you and Matiss want nothing more than to be together to decompress after a busy, busy week.
As for the video clip, sometimes satire hits so close to the truth that you go 'ouch' when you see it.
I did stay up last night to watch the Republican debates. Romney came right back at Gingrich last night, and did so well. You could really tell when Romney got in a good one because under Newt's pastey smile, he looked like he was sucking a bad lemon. Newt really comes across as an unpleasant person.

So far the flight is on time.
Gingrich may be unpleasant, but doesn't mean he's not sexy, right?

Reading your 6:00 AM comment, I just snorted coffee up my nose.
Posted by: treesta | January 27, 2012 at 06:05 AM
"Snort" would be the operative verb when it comes to Gingrich.
(Sorry I left out a word in my 6:00 comment. Posting on the go. Was probably picturing Newt and Callista in bed. Uh-oh . . . I just snorted.)

I'm practicing my kegel eye lifts for the next time I meet with TRM.
Posted by: Flannista | January 27, 2012 at 06:43 AM
I didn't watch the video because I can't even stand to watch satire about the Gingrichputinskies (not making fun of Russians, just Putin.)
At any rate, the Flann, treesta dialog made me snort but thank goodness I had no coffee.
Good luck to the beautiful Flann down there in Florida. I wish TRM were a true heart...

So many good lines in this, it's scary. It is pretty amazing that so many women are attracted to him. He reminds me of a lawn gnome.

Weather is pretty bad here in Sassistas!East. Heavy downpours are intermittent. And although when I spoke to Flann, her flight was on time. I just checked and it's delayed. It's now scheduled to arrive 15 mins late. (That's if she lucky.)
Let's not share this with her and hope for the best.
And yes treesta, I'm looking forward to a low-key weekend. The next two weeks will be just like this week.

I blew home.

Thanks for the humor on a dreary day.
Matiss, lawn gnomes are better looking.
Glad you made it home, Flann. It was windy this morning.

babysis, that made me laugh out loud!
I love the line which basically says Newt can fool around all he wants, but she can't. (I'm being more polite than the video.) That's why this is so brilliant. I can imagine so many of these thoughts being exchanged between Newt and his wife in conversation.

Yeah but how about Callista? I mean do you really think she lets that hair get messed up? And come on, the woman is younger than I am and that hair was in vogue before she was born. Lawn gnome meets Bratz.

I wasn't familiar with Casey Wilson, the woman who portrays Callista in this video. He bio on Wikipedia is very interesting. This jumped out at me...
"Her father, Paul O. Wilson, is a political consultant who helps run campaigns for Republican politicians.
Her late mother, Kathy Wilson, was chair of the National Women's Political Caucus, and attended her last Republican National Convention in 1980, while pregnant with Casey. Under her leadership, the NWPC endorsed Walter Mondale in the 1984 election, and Kathy eventually became a Democrat."
So she obviously has some strong ties to politics.

Just, can I just say, you're comments are dead-on these days AND very funny!
Maybe Callista isn't kinky enough for Newt, so he needs to expand his selection pool... just saying.

A friend posted this on Facebook today. Pretty decently done:

I needed that.

Perfect! Abbott and Costello! OMG.

You guys have no idea of my internal struggles when I write something political. For the Newt article, I REALLY REALLY wanted to include two things, which I regretfully left out because I knew it was the right thing. My better angels really have to work overtime when I write about politics, and even then I know they do not always win.
First, I wanted to make fun of Newt for saying that he became a Catholic after he saw the pope in person. I just think that is such a ridiculous, bullshit thing to say (and possibly embarrassing even to the pope), and I wrote it several ways but it ended up sounding mean-spirited no matter how I said it. I would never disrespect Romney on being a Mormon, so I reluctantly had to extend the same courtesy to Newt. Dammit.
And secondly, I wanted to repeat a line that Chris Matthews used once about Newt, saying that he looked like an evil Chucky doll. I even found a photo that I think looks like him when he smiles. I discarded that too, remembering how angry I was that people always commented on Janet Reno's looks - decided it would be too hypocritical of me to make fun of his appearance.
Scroll down to the last photo of Chucky to see the one I wanted to use.

Have not watched the Funny or Die video yet as I try to draw the line SOMEWHERE while I'm at work, although I'll watch it later. Funny or Die is awesome.

That's him, West!

OMG, Westsista. Justsista is right . . . that's our Newt!

Isn't Callista really Cindy McCain? I think so.
