Flannista

Three teams with bird names. What could it possibly mean?

Flannista

I can't decide whether or not to smack sass over these games. I'll wait to hear from you all. I'm not certain that I want to embarrass myself again, but that's never really stopped me before.

treesta

History tells me I should pick the same teams as Matiss, but there's a Maryland team playing, so I'll go with the Ravens today. Plus, I really don't like Seattle because they beat up on the 'Skins last week, so I'll go with the Falcons.

And go ahead, smack some sass, Flann. Who are your teams, anyway? We know Matiss's, but not yours.

Flannista

I'm hiding behind Matiss, er, I mean, I stand behind Matiss.

Flannista

BE WARNED, TREESTA! The word in the Code Thingy for my last comment was: succeeding.

treesta

Meaning you are succeeding at hiding behind Matiss. Go Ravens!

Flannista

No, meaning Matiss is succeeding at knowing, hearing and seeing all when it comes to predicting the outcome of NFL games.

Will the Ravens win?

QUOTH MATISS: Nevermore.

[treesta, baby doll, just admit it -- I've got it all over you when it comes to smack sass. You're just too nice. Sorry.]

Flannista

Word in Code Thingy for my last comment: must

. . . as in Matiss must be right.

Matissta

Flann agrees with my picks except one. At least that's what she said last night. It might change.

I think my only risky pick is the Seahawks over the Falcons. Although I keep hearing that the Falcons aren't as good as their record, but that's usually true.

No smack talk today. I'm not invested in any of these teams, financially or emotionally. Just like to see some good football. We'll be missing today's game because of another obligation which couldn't be more different. We're attending a theater organization's event. Yes, culture.

Flannista

Okay, I think the 49ers will beat the Packers; that's the only difference, but I'm afraid to say so.

Yes, we are heading off to see Bnbsista in Shepherdstown for a presentation about next summer's slate of plays for the Contemporary American Theater Festival. We are very much looking forward to it. Not sure we'll be around any TV at all until tomorrow afternoon. We'll be checking into the smack ass from our iPhones, though. Not to worry.

And sorry, theater always trumps sports in my book.

treesta

Flann, EVERYONE has it over me when it comes to smack talk. Not sure about the nice part, just TOO slow!

Meanwhile, I have a very quiet day today. Everyone is gone but me and the two dogs, who are both snoring at my feet as I type. I have a few errands to run, but will be back to watch the Raven's game. They're not my team, but I'll root for them for my son, and because they're local.

Matissta

Ah another Flann typo,
"We'll be checking into the smack ass from our iPhones, though. Not to worry."

Please don't correct it. It's too funny.

Flann, last night you were questioning my choice of the Seahawks. (And actually, I'm rooting for the 49ers, but I think the Packers will win.)

Sista C

I agree with your picks, Matiss, except I'm looking for Atlanta to win.

Sista C

Still thirsty for that microbrew, Flann.

Matissta

I hope noway and Peter add their choices. We need so Western blood to kick in here. On the East Coast, we rarely see the West Coast teams play.

Although I do know, noway is a Broncos fan.

Smack Ass

I think Atlanta will win, too, except I hate Atlanta's airport.

Smack Ass

I'm lookin' for the PERFECT microbrew for you, Sista C.

The essential ingredient: rat piss.

PEACEsista

You're hoping noway and Peter will weigh in ... what about PEACE?! I know smack ass when I read it!!

Broncos all the way, of course! Fairly certain that Tebow kneeled down enough for the Broncos a couple years ago that he recruited the Almighty as a fan for our team.

Also, I am rooting for the Packers, mostly because I have relatives in Wisconsin and I fear that my sister-in-law may have a stroke if they lose. I've seen her close to the tipping point while watching a game where the Packers were clearly winning!

Have a good day, y'all, whether engaged in high-brow or low-brow affairs!

Nowayasista

Theater trumps sports? Only if you need a nap.
Broncos over Ravens... But not a shoe in. Ravens on a roll and fired up.
San Francisco over Packers. Cheering on the Packers would be akin to voting for, well enough said. QB at SF is hidden gem.
Seahawks over Falcons. Maybe best game of the bunch.
Texans over Patriots. Due to extreme dislike of B.Bilicek and T. Pretty Boy Brady, have to go with heart over head. I may have to leave this game if Patriots start blowing it out. I go to a dark side that is not healthy.
Go Broncos.

Smack Ass

noway -- if you go to the dark side, I'll forgive you, but only after a restorative justice session.

Sista C

If that's the essential ingredient, Flann, you might as well send me Budweiser.

Smack Ass

That would be "Smack Ass", Sista C (at least through today).

And, I'm jus' joshing ya. I'm goin' to git you the REAL good stuff. I got kin in the mountains of Appalachia workin' on it day and night.

Smack Ass

Well damn if one of the kin's secret ingredients didn't come up in the Code Thingy!:

MUSTERED

Matissta

I'm going to be stuck in a car with Smack Ass for the next couple of hours. Pray for me.

babysis

I agree with Matissta's picks as well, except thinking Atlanta may have a chance to win.

My heart will be rooting for Houston and San Fran to upset though.

Mostly just wanting Baltimore and New England to get beat!
