Flannista

GB comes with me every Friday morning where I set him/her [anyone know what gender?] behind the kids as they each read their stories.

Flannista

A lot of the kids wrote that GB was red because he/she was "bloody", i.e. he/she had gotten beat up. Kinda sad.

treesta

Good morning, Flann. I love the way the kids don't say, "Gummy Bear got your back" any more. Now they say, "GB got your back." GB has become a real entity in that room!

Flannista

It's like they are respecting their own creation, treesta. So fun to witness.

Matissta

I think GB being genderless is more powerful. It shouldn't matter.

My guess is if you asked the kids, it would be a male. There's nothing feminine about GB.

Matissta

I love that GB's got a "stick" and has a girlfriend. Out of the mouths of babes.

Matissta

Flann, what are you going to do with GB at the end of the class year? Please, whatever you do, DO NOT cut it up and give equal amounts to the kids. I think it would be traumatic for them.

It would probably be better if you brought it home and we split it!

Flannista

When that First Grader read aloud about GB's stick and getting a girlfriend, it was all I could do not to make some inappropriate remark. I remember looking at the First Grade teacher and winking. She winked back.

Flannista

I think I'm going to ask the 'sphere what we ought to do with GB when the school year is over. I agree that I can't cut her up into little pieces in front of the kids, though it would be like some sort of weird communion thing. But I have to be careful not to bring religion into the classroom.

Pachasista

I thought I should comment just to let you know I forgive you for not knowing the exact date of my birthday. "The end of March" is sufficient. Love you anyway!

Sista C

An early Happy Birthday to Pachasista!

And Flann, as far as being tempted to make an inappropriate remark about GB's stick-------you've been watching WAY too much Spartacus.

Flannista

I called Pachasista and begged for forgiveness about not knowing the precise date of her birthday.

IT'S MARCH 29. Now none of you's let me forget, okay?!

Flannista

I had intended to get up early and do a post called, "Skyfallen".

Anyone other than Emily, treesta and Matissta want to guess why?

Justista

because there is low-lying fog in your backyard?

Sista C

Either you saw the latest James Bond movie, or you're playing Chicken Little. At least one of these seems implausible.

Flannista

Sista C's guess is close enough.

Last night, the Sassistas! invited Emily and treesta over to watch the latest Bond film, "Skyfall". Flann had the brilliant idea of making martinis -- shaken not stirred -- beforehand as a way to bond with Bond. We each had a couple of Flann's Bond martinis -- shaken, not stirred.

Sista C -- because you are so very good at guessing these things, can you guess how many minutes of "Skyfall" Flannista actually watched before falling asleep? And yes, we did actually start the movie around 8 pm.

Sista C

Less than half an hour, probably.

Flannista

Damn, Sista C . . . do you know me or what?!

Sista C

Yes.

Justista

So this morning you felt like there was low-lying fog?

PEACEsista

Your today is already tomorrow morning here in Bangkok! We are having a wonderful trip and are flying to the beach today for a little R&R before the long flight home on 3/28. Love to all.

Flannista

We have missed you and nowayasista, PEACEsista. Thanks so much for checking in with us. Continued travel blessings.
