"Oh, dear gawd, Scout . . . I realize that you see me as your nurturing mother, but this is going too far."

Flannista

PETTING

Matissta

"Come to me..."

Matissta

Scout's new scratching post.

Flannista

Hmmm, Matissta . . . I know that my personality can be abrasive at times, but there's no way that anyone would say that it's wooden.

Matissta

Maybe with the lack of participation, you should have named today's post "Scratch this Post!"

Missmysista

"Now listen to me Scout, despite what you may have been told, there is no catNIP in these parts."

Flannista

Missmysista -- did Matissta tell you that there was catnip in those parts?

Missmysista

No, I believe that Matissta would safeguard those details. I assume that Scout is having nip confusion.

Flannista

Oh dear. I hope it's not cat-astrophic.

Lovasista

Scout is feel-ine around. Trying to knead the purrfect spot. It's a pawfect imprint!!

Sassing in late from Dubois, WY. We drove across the state today, stopping for lunch at the famed Virginian Hotel in Medicine Bow and then at Independence Rock, a Wyoming Historical treasure on the Oregon Trail:

Great day ... and more adventure in store for tomorrow!

PEACEsista

noway and I will be competing in the Run for Chance 5K tomorrow morning, helping to support the Chance Phelps Foundation. This run is the primary reason for our cross-state summer tour!

After the run, on to see Sacajawea's grave, to visit a funky rare and used book store in Sweetwater Junction, and a hike in Sinks Canyon! Lander tomorrow night.

Enjoy the weekend, dear sistas!

Flannista

Thanks for running for Chance, PEACE and noway. A great cause.

Flannista

Lovasista -- I had forgotten how mothers imprint their kids. I'm told that Scout is very sweet. Guess I've made a good impression.

Matissta

Flann, if you ever question whether or not you've made a good impression on Scout, just remember when she came to first live with you. She was extremely shy, rarely being seen, wouldn't let anyone pet her. Look at her now. Comes down when company is around, will let others pet her, plays & best yet purrs! You have provided a very safe & loving home for her.

She's very lucky that you're her mom. I don't think she would have thrived as much with someone else.

And she is very sweet.

Flannista

Thank you, Matissta. I needed to read that this morning.

I am sitting here at my bistro table. Scout is sleeping on the chair on the other side:

PEACE and noway: needless to say, don't hurt your knees running today. I'm jealous that you're able to do that.

treesta

She is one adorable little cat. That's for sure.

PEACEsista

WE both WON first place in our 50-59 age division. I won a $50 gift certificate to the Exxon station and noway won a $50 certificate for MEAT. Perfect!

Flannista

What an I inspiration the two of you are! Congratulations! The Sassistas! are so proud of you!

Matissta

That's terrific! I can't even run to my refrigerator.

It has been a great weekend and adventure. Enjoy your Sunday!

Matissta

PEACE, have you posted about them before? I've read about the owners and this bookstore.

Flannista

Matissta -- I think Peter posted about the owners and this bookstore before.
